Washington County Youth Hockey Association announces six players have been selected to represent Region 5 (Southeast Wisconsin) in the 2014 Kohlman Cup. Ethan Coughlin, Adam Butler and Charlie Werner will play in the 2001 birth year tournament. Brady MacDonald, Noah Grannan and Tyler Herzberg will represent the region in the 2002 birth year tourney.
"It's a testament to the hard work and dedication that these boys and the entire Association puts into skill development," said Eddie MacDonald, Director of Player Development for the WCYHA. "This will be a great opportunity for these six boys to see how they stack up against some of the best hockey players in their age groups throughout the state."
The Kohlman Cup is an annual all-star hockey showcase tournament that closes the traditional hockey season. In its 10th year, the tournament pits each of the 6 WAHA regions against one another to determine a statewide champion at both the Pee Wee major (2001) and minor (2002) levels.
In addition to the 6 players representing the WCYHA at the 2014 Kohlman Cup, Washington County will be represented at the coaching level as well. Pee Wee A Head Coach Al Haga will lead the 2001 team with MacDonald leading the 2002 team.
This year's tournament will be hosted by Region 6 and take place at the Omni Center in Onalaska, April 5-6.
