SQC Green falls to Fox Valley 4-1 in State Championship Game

In Green's first game they played a tough and physical Waunakee Yellow Wildcats team.  Green got off to a 3-0 lead.  A late goal by Waunakee did not sway the Green team's determination to move onto the semi-finals and a possible matchup with our friends the Black team.  The team held off a late surge with the extra attacker on the ice for the Wildcats to win with a final score of 3-1.

Washington County Green faced the Washington County Black team in the semifinals.  Green scored two goals early in the first period followed by three more goals in the second period to take a 5-0 lead.  Black fought hard to score two goals in the third period.  Undeterred by the back to back goals by the Black team, Green scored another goal to give them a win with a final score of 6-2.

In the championship game, Green faced the tournament host Fox Valley Blades.  Fox Valley came out and quickly scored three goals.  Green fought hard and scored a goal which was answered by another goal by Fox Valley.  The entire team kept their focus and played hard, but came up short losing to Blades with a final score of 4-1.  The team gave it their best and is happy to bring home the 2nd place trophy.
