PWA, PWB, SQA, SQB, SQCB finish Divisional Play at #1 Seeds...

WEST BEND, WI.  Washington County Youth Hockey Association will send five number 1 seeds to state qualifying tournaments across Southeast Wisconsin February 1st and 2nd.  These qualifying tournaments will determine who will represent Region 5 Division 2 at the state tournaments held at various locations throughout Wisconsin the second and third weekends in March.

Lead by their Pee Wee A (23-3-3; 8-0-0) and Squirt B (16-5-1; 10-0-0) teams, the WCYHA will also have number 1 seeds at the Squirt A (16-6-3; 6-1-1), Squirt C Black (13-4-3; 9-1-2) and Pee Wee B (16-6-2; 7-1- 0) levels.
“The WCYHA has been growing over the past few years. When you see growth, you see more competitive teams at all levels,” said Doug Pickett, WCYHA President.  “The entire Association takes pride not only in our success, but how these boys and girls are growing and learning within the game of hockey.”

The WCYHA teams will compete against teams from Arrowhead, SHAW, Kenosha and Elmbrook for the right to represent region 5 in their state tournaments.

“I am so proud to see all of the hard work of these kids paying off,” Director of Coaching and Player Development Eddie MacDonald added.  “Most of these players have come through our ADM (American Development Model) program.  It shows that the WCYHA is doing things right when these skaters are first getting on to the ice and the kids are clearly carrying their developmental skills with them through their travel team years.”
WCYHA and the Kettle Moraine Ice Center will host the Bantam state qualifier tournaments for Division 1 and Division 2 at the A and B levels on February 1st and 2nd.

The Washington County Youth Hockey Association is a private non-profit hockey association. Through a dedicated staff of certified coaches the WCYHA strives to teach youth sportsmanship, ice skating, teamwork, build self-esteem, and develop discipline. WCYHA fields teams through high school aged youth, and supports and maintains the Kettle Moraine Ice Center in West Bend owned by the WCYHA. The WCYHA operates completely with volunteers dedicated to putting on a first class hockey program for the youth of the Washington County community.
