Hockey Programs

Pre-Hockey
Our Pre-Hockey program is designed for the beginner hockey player (ages 4 to 12).  We encourage both boys and girls to participate.  Skaters will learn the basics of skating, puck handling, passing, shooting, and many of the other skills involved in the game of ice hockey.
The cost of a seven week session is only $65.
Session I begins September 15th, 2009
.
Rental equipment is available for a returnable $150.00 deposit and a $10.00 rental fee.
Pre-hockey is a development process used to prepare players for travel youth hockey.  Once experienced in pre hockey, skaters will be invited to play on one of our travel teams or if young enough they can go to our Mini Mite program for 1 year before playing with our travel teams.
Our travel teams go throughout high school. Most travel takes place in the Milwaukee/Metro area. In addition to our Pre-hockey class we strongly encourage skaters to come to open skate at KMIC (free admission to public skate for pre hockey skaters during time of enrollment).

Mini-Mite In-House Program
The Mini-Mite Program is a developmental program that prepares players for travel youth hockey by allowing the skaters to experience "game-like" situations in a less competitive atmosphere.
Fees include 1 - 1 hour shared ice practice during the week for 10 weeks, 6 home games and an annual Family Public Skate Pass.  Games are held on Saturdays at the Kettle Moraine Ice Center.

 Adult Hockey League
The Kettle Moraine Ice Center will again be holding an Adult  league.  This Adult, no-check, Hockey League is for men and woman over the age of 18.  Our intentions for holding this league are to invite people of all ages to enjoy and play the sport of Ice Hockey.  This league will include 20 games guaranteed, plus playoffs.  Players who sign up will be placed on a team and receive a jersey.  All team members will be required to play with matching colored jerseys. In an effort to help keep costs down, we ask that each player return their jersey at the end of the session.

Adult Open Hockey
This program is for both men and women over the age of 18 and is just a fun pickup no check league for all levels of hockey expertise. You must provide your own equipment. All levels of skaters are welcome. Fees are $5.00 per session and the first two goalies per session will skate free.

Travel Teams
Welcome to the Washington County Youth Hockey Association. We are a private non-profit hockey association. Through a dedicated staff of certified coaches, we strive to teach youth sportsmanship, ice skating, teamwork, build self-esteem and develop discipline.
WCYHA fields teams through high school aged youth, and supports and maintains the Kettle Moraine Ice Center, owned by WCYHA. We operate completely with volunteers dedicated to putting on a first class program for the youth of the community.
If you currently skate or would like to skate for WCYHA and live outside Washington County, you must obtain a release from the hockey association where you reside to be eligible to skate with WCYHA.
Registration for travel teams is in August and practices begin in September with games beginning at the end of October.
