The game of 3 on 3 can easily be referred to as “The fastest game on ice.” In 3 on 3 hockey, each four player team has three skaters on a half sheet of ice, giving players an incredible amount of time to handle the puck. There is one goalie, who plays as an individual, therefore, having the opportunity to face as many as 60 shots on goal during the three 6 minute, run time periods. For those familiar with the half court basketball, this game is quite similar.

The game’s unique rules, including no icing and no off sides creates a fast, exiting pace and this wide-open format promotes creativity amongst players of all skill levels, Upon change of possession all players must be cleared outside the blue line with all offensive players touching up prior to becoming involved in the play.

All teams are guaranteed 3 games, with the possibility of playing up to 7 games in the modified double elimination format. We would like to invite any Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam team that have no affiliated AAA players as part of their team. For future considerations, we would be interested in hearing of any girl’s teams or high school teams who might like to participate.

Please register early. The deadline is February 10 2010. Space is limited and first paid, first confirmed based on post mark dates. Registration does not guarantee a place, an e-mail confirmation will be sent to the team’s contact person. If you have any questions please inquire by e-mail ASAP.

Pre-Hockey - Session 3

Pre-Hockey

Our Pre-Hockey program focuses on the basic skills needed to prepare players for Youth Hockey. Boys and girls ages 4 to 12 are welcome. Participants should be able to skate forward prior to enrollment. In addition to Pre-Hockey, we encourage skaters to come to Public Skate (free of charge during time of enrollment).

WCAHL presents the First Annual 3 on 3 Adult hockey tournament

Attention Hockey players!!!
The Washington County Adult Hockey League presents the First Annual 3 on 3 Adult hockey tournament Friday September 18th and Saturday September 19th, 2009.
The tournament is open to all adult level hockey players, classified as "A" and "B" caliber players, aged 21 and older.
The fee for this tournament is $200 per team.
The deadline to register is September 4th, so get your team in right away, only the first 16 teams will be accepted.
Goalies register on your own and compete amongst the other goalies. The cost for goalies is $35 and the first 5 goalies will be accepted.

USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION

All skaters are required to register at www.usahockey.com for USA Hockey Insurance coverage for the 2009 – 2010 season. Be sure to select the upcoming season when you register, as it may still show the 2008-2009 season as the default.

Registration is available as of May 1. Proof of registration must be sent or turned into Danielle before your skater can hit the ice in fall.

Registration Days

July 18^th 10:00am-1:00pm

July 30^th 6:30pm-8:00pm

Registration is for filling out Volunteer Agreement forms, Health forms, and Consent to Treat forms. Online USA Hockey registration can be dropped off and new skaters can turn in a copy of their birth certificate.

Jerseys and socks will be available to try on and order. Final payments can be made and fundraising information will be available.
